clans & villages
The social life of a wickerbeast heavily depends on their place of birth.
Those that are born "native" are known as Clan Wickers and follow the lifestyle of their ancestors by living off the land and have a barter andtrade system. Clan wickers highly value the old ways of their culture and place cunning and trickery on a pedestal. An ancient code they uphold known as the "Nodus Code" states that if you can best them at a test of skill and knowledge they will be pledged as an ally to you no matter the circumstances. Chosen leadership under clans is a very methodical series
of trials nominees must go through. These trials can last up to a year depending on how much terrirotry is involved.
Clans always hunt for their food, no exceptions. Their hunting method is one that their ancestors used known as a "bait and trap", where they mimic the prey's call and lure it into a false sense of security before striking.

Those who choose life in cities are shunned by both villagers and clans due to choosing a life with humans rather than their own kind. City wickers tend to mix newly learned behaviors and cultures with their own to help them fit into the new
environment while also feeling at ease with themselves. While enjoying life in the city they must also be very cautious, as most black market organizations will hunt them for prized parts such as tails, horns, and pelts.
Village wickerbeasts live a more progressive lifestyle than Clans but are not considered as advanced as cities. Village wickerbeasts are a bit more open about how they handle situations and are a bit quicker to tolerate rather than the "kill on sight" mindset Clan wickers have.
Villages operate under a system where the elders are in charge, and each have their own apprentice that may substitute for them if they are unable to perform their duties. Those in villages tend to pick up jobs as merchants or caravan guards, as they do use currency to buy what they need more than living off the land.
One age-old superstition that both clans and villages hold onto are that kingbeasts are good luck and the birth of just one means a year of prosperity.
Due to this, kings are usually subjected to favoritism and heavily sway opinions in their favor as well as decisions in matters.
City Wickerbeast Citizenship Process
A large portion of city wickerbeast populations occur through a type of sponsorship, younger generations of those who have already earned their permanent residence do not need to have one. To obtain a sponsor, one must be working under an official company or caravan. Once the sponsorship period ends, the wickerbeast is officially a citizen of that country. Since the sponsorship process is lengthy and expensive it is namely wealthy companies or individuals who do this. Wickerbeasts under the sponsorship of the higher class usually have occupations as: house help, assistants, and bodyguards.
